30am Sunday through Thursday nights Summary/Objective This role is at a Dairy Foods manufacturing facility creating high quality cultured dairy products.
The Dairy Technician is a front-line employee who performs activity in the manufacturing process.
Specific duties range from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes including ultra-filtration operation, to packaging the final product.
In all stages of production, safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation.

The Dairy Technician is responsible for supporting the functions of pasteurizing all milk products while meeting all federal, state, local, and Company requirements.
Runs and maintains dairy production equipment, with specific focus on sanitation of equipment.
Closely monitors the dairy production process and follows standard operating procedures for batching and processing products.
Accurately prepares and maintains production and cleaning paperwork.
Monitors fats, total solids, allergen, cryoscope and other related items associated with dairy product processing.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
Verifies all charts and temperature recordings.
Maintains sanitation of equipment including CIP and hand cleaning.
Operates equipment at recommended speeds and communicates mechanical or operational issues as they arise.
Maximizes throughput and minimizes downtime, communication with all departments and supervision as needed.
Utilizes continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities and improve efficiencies and/or safety in the process.
Follows Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).
Immediately reports any food safety or food quality issues to management.
Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Wears PPE as required.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.
At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms.
Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends.
At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required.
The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Required Education and Experience High school diploma/GED.

years of dairy manufacturing experience; strong knowledge and experience in HTST pasteurization preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older Able to trouble shoot mechanical problems Able to work in a fast-paced environment Work in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the day Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ability to demonstrate knowledge in their functions and ability to troubleshoot and fix system issues is preferred Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision Ensures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks Customer focused and able to work in a collaborative team Ability to be flexible in work performed and schedule Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skills Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Experience communicating work order progress to supervisor and production operators Preferred Education and Experience Dairy manufacturing preferred, but not required.
